About Our Service
In the Ultrasound Department we aim to provide excellence in diagnostic antenatal imaging to all our women. We understand the need to deliver this service in a manner that respects the uniqueness and dignity of each person, regardless of ethnicity, culture or religion. Our care is based on trust , information sharing and support. Our sonographers are highly trained specialised practitioners , linking in with our fetal medicine consultants if appropriate.
We understand that ultrasound care may include the detection of abnormal conditions in mother and babies and we aim to provide support and relevant up to date, evidence based counselling in those situations for optimum outcomes for our clients.

We Offer Scans For:
Your Dating Scan
Your dating scan may take place on the day of your first appointment, or may be scheduled for a later date. The scan will confirm your expected due date (EDD), the number of babies you are expecting, and monitor your baby’s heartbeat.
Support partners are welcome to join you for this part of your booking visit. They are asked to wait outside until you are called for your scan.
Some points to note:
Children are not permitted in the scanning rooms
Strictly no filming or recording
Preparing for your dating scan (or any scans in the 1st Trimester)
Please drink a small bottle of water
DO NOT empty your bladder in the 45 minutes prior to your scan
There is no need to have a full bladder for scans in the 2nd and 3rd Trimesters.
