About Our Service
The Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology clinic was established at The Coombe Hospital in January 2022. It is dedicated to the management of adolescents with gynaecological concerns.
The clinic accepts referrals nationally as it is one of only three hospitals with a dedicated Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) service. The PAG team (Consultant and SpR) at The Coombe Hospital also attend the PAG clinic in CHI at Temple Street, where care is offered to younger patients.
Referrals include menstrual concerns, ovarian masses, Differences in sexual development (DSDs), Mullerian anomalies, delayed puberty or primary amenorrhoea and premature ovarian insufficiency. A significant proportion of our referrals are for adolescents with additional developmental needs who require specialist input for the management of their menstrual issues.
The clinic sees patients from the age of 12 upwards and the hospital offers admission for theatre where required from the age of 15 upwards.
