About Our Service

Birth Reflections is a listening and a debriefing service available to all women who are currently pregnant and attending the Coombe hospital and have had a previous birth, or have birthed here in the last two years.

It is not a complaints or a counselling service. There are outreach clinics where the women their partners can attend. Newbridge Lucan and Crumlin Primary Health Care Centre (Armagh RD). Women can also be seen on site at the hospital.

Any woman can self refer by email birthreflections@coombe.ie or phoning 0861450910. An appointment will be made that in the coming weeks after contacting the service.

Please note appointments need to be after the standard six week check up..

Birth reflections is not a complaints or counselling service. If you wish to give feedback about an experience you had at the hospital please contact our Patient Liaison Manager.

You can email your feedback to ndunne@coombe.ie or contact the Patient Liaison Manager at 01 408 5275. Your feedback is welcomed and valued, it allows us to continually improve the care and services we provide to our service users.

    During this time of great uncertainty women who are due to give birth at The Coombe may contact this service by telephone or email.

    Our Birth Reflections Midwife will then contact you and arrange to speak with you over the phone.

Public Clinic

If you are living and working in Ireland and have the PRSI contributions or you have a medical card you can access free maternity and newborn care.

Semi Private Clinic

The semi-private clinic is a fee based option. Most women who choose this clinic use private health insurance to cover costs. .

  • Appointments:
    All appointments can be directed through Hospital reception: 01 408 5200, 24 hours a day

  • Health Insurance:
    We operate a direct payment scheme with VHI, Laya Healthcare, Irish Life Health, Garda Medical Aid, ESB, Medical Provident Fund, and Prison Officers Medical Aid. If you are covered by any of these insurers, the relevant insurance forms are signed electronically on your admission to hospital.
