About Our Service

The Coombe Hospital provides the largest and most comprehensive gynaecology surgical service in the country.

A wide range of outpatient and inpatient services are available for women of all ages with gynaecological problems who are referred by their GPs or consultants from other hospitals. You may opt to be treated as either a public or a private patient.

The Gynaecological Surgery booklet aims to provide you with information to prepare you for your gynaecological surgery.

Your operation may be completed through your abdomen, your vagina or keyhole surgery (laparoscopy). Recovery following surgery depends on type of surgery, your age, comorbidities, lifestyle, diet and fitness level prior to the operation and other factors.

Appointments:
All appointments can be directed through Hospital reception: 01 408 5200, 24 hours a day
Health Insurance:
We operate a direct payment scheme with VHI, Laya Healthcare, Irish Life Health, Garda Medical Aid, ESB, Medical Provident Fund, and Prison Officers Medical Aid. If you are covered by any of these insurers, the relevant insurance forms are signed electronically on your admission to hospital.
