Online Pregnancy Classes

Introduction to Pregnancy Class

Friday

11.00am - 12.15pm

Our introduction to pregnancy class will now take place every second Friday starting from the 9th June at 11am.

This class is suitable for those who are over 15 weeks gestation - 22 weeks gestation.

This class will cover topics such as the normal bodily changes in pregnancy, back care, normal bowel and bladder habits, benefits and practise of safe exercise in pregnancy. We will also cover some advice on the management of common discomforts of pregnancy. You only need to attend this class once.

Physiotherapy Antenatal Class

Every Thursday

2.00pm - 4.00pm

This class is recommended after 24 weeks in preparation for labour.

Exercising in Pregnancy

 

Exercising during your pregnancy will increase your energy levels, improve your mood, aid sleep patterns, improve posture, prevent backache and help to regulate a healthy weight gain over the course of your pregnancy.

This video outline the benefits of exercising during pregnancy and things to be mindful of as you exercise throughout.

 

 

Lower Back Pain & Pelvic Pain

 

Many women will experience low back pain or pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy. The increasing weight of your growing baby, changes in posture and your centre of gravity can lead to low back pain (LBP) or pelvic girdle pain (PGP).

In this video we discuss tips for managing low back and pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy.

As we get closer to our due date perineal massage can help to prepare the pelvic floor for labour and delivery.

In the first stage of labour we can use our breathing as a powerful tool to help us feel relaxed, confident and comfortable.

In this video we outline some breathing techniques that will help you throughout your labour.

 

 

Exercise and advice during pregnancy

  • looking after your pelvic floor

  • exercising in pregnancy

  • managing common musculoskeletal conditions and

  • preparing for labour and birth.
