HIQA Audits

Hygiene is a fundamental component of the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital's quality system, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff, and it plays a crucial role in the prevention and control of healthcare associated infection.

Hygiene services incorporate a number of key services and areas within the campus such as the environment and facilities, hand hygiene, catering, management of laundry, wastes and sharps, and equipment.

The senior management team leads, manages and supports hygiene services in the hospital. It works to address the challenges of hospital hygiene and to comply with service standards.

It is the objective of the Board of Guardians, the hospital Management Executive and all the staff of the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital to achieve a high rating in the HIQA national hygiene audits.
