Help us to minimise infections

Infection Control

All visitors are asked to clean their hands with antibacterial gel on arrival and when leaving the hospital and are urged not to travel to the hospital if they are unwell. Antibacterial gel is widely available throughout the hospital.

Visitor Information

Welcome to the visiting information section of our website. We hope you will find all you need to know about visiting a friend or family member.

Please be conscious that some patients may find visitors tiring, particularly if they have had major surgery. Do try and keep your visit short, ideally no more than 20 minutes. For details of our visiting hours, and who may visit, please click on our Visiting Hours Section on the bar to the left of this page.

Every time you visit, please help our infection control efforts by using the hand gel rub on entering the hospital, and on leaving.

  • The Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital will become a tobacco-free campus from Friday, November 1st 2013.
  • During Pandemics and outbreaks of viruses/infections in the community, the hospital may have to impose visiting restrictions at short notice.
  • Please assist us in keeping the hospital campus clean and tidy by placing litter in the bins provided.
