Infection Control

All visitors are asked to clean their hands with antibacterial gel on arrival and when leaving the hospital and are urged not to travel to the hospital if they are unwell. Antibacterial gel is widely available throughout the hospital.

How to reach us

The Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital is just about a ten minute drive from Dublin city centre. Just head south on Patrick Street, and take a right to bring you on to Dean Street. Keep in the left hand lane and you will then turn left at the filter light on to Cork Street. Continue driving up Cork Street and we are on the left hand side, at the end of Cork Street, which then leads into Dolphin's Barn.

Car parking on the hospital site is very limited and, between the hours of 8am to 4pm, there is a high demand for car parking spaces. It would not be unusual to find yourself in a queue of cars waiting for a space to become available in order to enter the car park. We advise you not to park your car on the public footpath outside the hospital. Clampers - who are not employed by the hospital - regularly patrol the area and clamp patient and visitor cars.

The following Dublin Bus routes stop outside the hospital. They are 56a, 27, 77a, 77n and 151. The buses operate from various points in the city centre, and are subject to change from time to time. For bus timetables and departure points, please visit the Dublin Bus quicklink to the right hand side of this page.
