Maternity Registration Form

Maternity Registration Form

Even if you've had a baby at the Coombe in the past, all maternity patients must fill in a Patient Registration Form. Please return the completed form to us in order to receive your first appointment. Click the word 'more' (below) to download a copy of the form.

Breastfeeding and breastfeeding support

One in every two women breastfeed their babies, and this number is increasing all the time. Be sure to seek support and information early. The hospital's Parent Education classes will cover breastfeeding, as well as bottlefeeding, and further advice will be available to you on the ward after your baby is born.

Breastfeeding support and other information is also available across the country. Just click on the links to the right hand side of this page for more details.

What breastfeeding can do for your baby

Your baby will:

  • suffer from far fewer illnesses and infections
  • have improved growth and development
  • have better mouth formation and straighter teeth
  • have better lifelong health if breastfed in early childhood

What breastfeeding can do for you

You will:

  • know that you are giving your baby the best start in life
  • reduce your risk of getting breast and ovarian cancer
  • save money
  • get your figure back faster and easier

Will I be able to have a social life and breastfeed?

Yes you will! As you become more confident, you will be able to breastfeed your baby whenever and wherever your baby needs. Breastfeeding is more convenient when you need to be away from home, as you don't need to bring bottles or heat them up.

You can also express milk for your baby's feed and refrigerate it so that someone else can feed your baby.
