Maternity Registration Form

Maternity Registration Form

Even if you've had a baby at the Coombe in the past, all maternity patients must fill in a Patient Registration Form. Please return the completed form to us in order to receive your first appointment. Click the word 'more' (below) to download a copy of the form.

Physiotherapy Classes

The Physiotherapy Department offers a range of Antenatal and Postnatal Education and Support programmes for women and infants.

Antenatal Classes

Antenatal classes consist of two parts. One part is led by the Physiotherapy Department and the other by the Parent Education Department.

The classes are complementary and you should try to attend both physiotherapy and parent education classes, if possible.

How to book your Physiotherapy and Antenatal Classes

You can download the booking form here:

Please choose which classes you would like to attend and then return the booking form to let us know your chosen classes.

If you are having your first baby your physiotherapy antenatal classes will consist of a course of three classes, each lasting about two hours. Ideally you should attend the first class in your first trimester, and certainly before 20 weeks of pregnancy. Your second and third classes will take place on consecutive weeks at about 34 weeks into your pregnancy. These will be arranged for you at the same time as your first class is booked.

Attended antenatal classes on your last pregnancy?

If this is not your first baby you may attend a one-off refresher class. These are held once a week from 9.00 am -11am and booking is necessary, following the instructions above.

Please remember that places are limited due to space restrictions so if you wish to attend classes make sure to book early! Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We're sorry that due to space restrictions partners cannot be accommodated in the physiotherapy antenatal classes.

Physiotherapy appointments

In addition to physiotherapy classes, we also see women and babies on a one-to-one basis. Physiotherapy appointments can be made by contacting us on 01 4085319.

If you, or your baby, attend another service in the hospital, we will be happy to make your physiotherapy appointment on the same day, if we can. Please let us know.

If you are not sure of the dates of any other appointments, you can ring the physiotherapy secretary with the details when you have them, and she will co-ordinate your physiotherapy appointment, where possible.

PLEASE always let us know IN ADVANCE if you would like appointments co-ordinated. We may not be able to accommodate you if you are not on the physiotherapy schedule, even if you have another appointment in the hospital on the same day, unless you inform us beforehand.

Please give us as much notice as you can. This is particularly important if your baby attends the Developmental Clinic, as well as the Physiotherapy Department.
