Barbara Whelan, Clinical Midwife Specialist - Neo Natal (left) of the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital with new Mum Jennifer Walker-Butler and her son Dara Butler (6 weeks old) from East Wall and Jean Cousins - Coombe Midwife at the launch of www.whatsupmum.ie - a new website developed in conjunction with the HSE to bring together advice and support from healthcare professionals to new and expectant families via free web tv and smartphone apps.

The website is the first ever HSE supported multimedia information resource providing access to expert advice from midwives, obstetricians, paediatricians and other healthcare professionals. Each of the medical practitioners featured in the film footage, and in the apps, are practising health care professionals, giving practical advice to new mums and their families.

Former Master of the Coombe and currently HSE National Clinical Lead for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Professor Michael Turner, said, "We welcome the use of modern communications to make practical information easily available about pregnancy and the care of the newborn to women and their families. Access to high quality information for women about pregnancy is an important goal of the HSE National Programme in Obstetrics and Gynaecology"

Coombe staff who are amongst the professionals appearing on the website TV clips include, Barbara Whelan, Clinical Midwife Specialist - Neonatal; Jean Cousins - Midwife; Fiona Dunleavy - Dietitian; Dr Mairead Kennelly - Consultant Obstetrician; Dr Martin White - Consultant Neonatologist.
