The Coombe Women’s Hospital currently makes information routinely available to the public in relation to the services it provides. This information will continue to be available informally without reference to the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act. The FOI Act is designed to allow public access to information held by public bodies which is not routinely available through other sources. The Act confers to members of the public the right to obtain access to the greatest extent possible consistent with the public interest and the right to privacy of individuals. Access under the Act involves specific procedures and time limits and is also subject to certain exemptions.
